The National Investigation Agency (NIA) seized over Rs 36 crore in demonetised currency notes, allegedly linked to financing of terrorist and separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir, and arrested nine people on Tuesday.
Bangladesh will restore the railway lines with India at 12 places, which were snapped after the partition of the country in 1947 and wars in 1965 and 1971, for stronger bilateral ties, its railways minister has said.

Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Tuesday said the Army would neutralise any terrorists entering Indian territory, after Indian forces killed the nephew of Jaish-e-Muhammad chief Masood Azhar in Pulwama in a gunfight.
The income tax department has seized 541 properties and frozen bank accounts holding funds of about Rs 1,800 crore, said a top department official, adding that more action is expected soon. “Big focus would be on benami properties and action on persons who have not filed returns even after their cash deposits during demonetisation were detected,” the official said.
Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has said sports cannot be run by bureaucrats as their involvement affects the administering of sports. Stating that things would not be the same, Rathore added they will cut strength of Sports Authority of India by 50% by 2022. He further said that these bodies will now be supported ably by professionals.
The Indian Railways has launched the main arch of the world’s highest bridge on the River Chenab in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district which will provide direct connectivity to the Kashmir Valley. The iconic bridge will soar 359 metres above the bed of the River Chenab and will be 30 metres higher than the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris.

China on Monday objected to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s first visit to Arunachal Pradesh, saying her tour of the “disputed area” is not conducive to the peace and tranquility in the region. Sitharaman on sunday visited forward army posts in remote Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh bordering China to take stock of the defence preparedness.
